What is QEEG Brain Mapping and How Does It Help?

QEEG (Quantitative Electroencephalography) brain mapping is an advanced assessment tool we use in our 10 and 21-day programs to visualize and understand your brain's electrical activity patterns. This technology provides valuable insights for personalized neurofeedback and nervous system regulation.

How QEEG Brain Mapping Works

During a QEEG assessment:

  1. Sensors placement: 19 non-invasive sensors are placed on your scalp in precise locations
  2. Brainwave recording: Your brain's electrical activity is recorded for 10-15 minutes while resting with eyes open and closed
  3. Data analysis: The recorded signals are processed using specialized software
  4. Brain map creation: A color-coded visual representation of your brain activity is generated
  5. Comparison to database: Your results are compared to normative data from thousands of individuals

The entire process is painless, non-invasive, and takes approximately 45-60 minutes.

What QEEG Measures

The brain map assesses different brainwave frequencies and their distribution across brain regions:

  • Delta waves (0.5-4 Hz): Associated with deep sleep and healing
  • Theta waves (4-8 Hz): Connected to deep relaxation and creativity
  • Alpha waves (8-12 Hz): Reflect calm alertness and meditation
  • Beta waves (12-30 Hz): Indicate focused attention and cognitive activity
  • Gamma waves (30-100 Hz): Related to higher cognitive processing and integration

The map shows areas of excessive or deficient activity in each frequency band, providing insights into potential sources of dysregulation.

How We Use QEEG Results

Your brain map informs several aspects of your program:

Personalized Neurofeedback Protocol:

  • Targeted training for specific brain regions and frequencies
  • Custom neuroplasticity exercises based on your unique patterns

Understanding Symptoms:

  • Correlations between brain activity and your symptoms
  • Insights into the neurological basis of your experience

Measuring Progress:

  • For 21-day programs, a second QEEG is performed to track changes
  • Objective data to validate subjective improvements

Educational Tool:

  • Visual representation to help you understand your brain function
  • Framework for comprehending how different modalities affect your brain

Benefits of QEEG-Guided Approach

Using QEEG to inform our approach offers several advantages:

  • Precision: Targets specific brainwave patterns rather than general approaches
  • Efficiency: Focuses on areas that will yield the greatest improvements
  • Personalization: Recognizes that each brain is unique in its patterns
  • Objectivity: Provides measurable data rather than subjective assessment alone
  • Integration: Helps connect symptoms across body systems to brain function

The QEEG assessment provides a neurological foundation for understanding your unique nervous system patterns, allowing for truly personalized nervous system regulation.
